Caleb Ponton serves as Development Officer for Individual Giving at Habitat for Humanity International, where he helps strengthen donor relationships and grow support for Habitat’s global mission.
He brings more than six years of experience in nonprofit development, with a focus on building national philanthropic networks and securing transformative gifts. He believes every gift is an opportunity to spark the joy of charitable giving and build a brighter future for everyone.
Caleb is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the NC Center for Nonprofits, and is a graduate of the NC Nonprofit Management Institute and Kim Klein’s “Fundraising for Social Change” program.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in political science from Appalachian State University, he began his career fundraising for nonprofits supporting communities facing systemic barriers. He has served on the board of the Harmony: NC LGBT+ Allied Chamber of Commerce and on AFP Triangle’s IDEA Committee (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility). His career has included roles with the New Hanover County Board of Elections, Appalachian State’s Office of Outdoor Programs, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He is an Eagle Scout, marathon runner, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200).
Caleb lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, with his nine-year-old pit bull, Travis.
